Each staff member, volunteer, and Member of the Board of Directors plays a role in operationalizing our mission and vision. New members of our Board of Directors are nominated by current members and selected based on their leadership, compassion, and ability to make a difference in the community. Together we are making wonderful things happen in our community and beyond!

Melissa Laniewski

Chair

Melissa grew up in the Selinsgrove borough, and she and her husband Randy chose to stay and raise their three daughters there as well. They are now grandparents to six grandchildren, 4 of whom live in Selinsgrove. Melissa works for Bowen Agency Realtors in Selinsgrove as the Recruitment and Training Coordinator. She is also active in the Selinsgrove Rotary Club.

Tanya Matlaga

Tanya Matlaga is an assistant professor of Biology at Susquehanna University. She lives in the Selinsgrove area with her husband, twin high schoolers, a dog, 3 cats, 5 goats, and many chickens. She has been delighted to watch the REC grow and provide essential resources to the surrounding community and is excited to contribute to its success as a board member.

Bruce McCurdy

Treasurer

Bruce McCurdy raised two children to adulthood with his wife, Rhonda. He moved to Selinsgrove in 2024 to be closer to them and has served as an active volunteer at the REC ever since. Bruce recently retired from his 25 year long career as the internet sales manager at Weir Canyon Acura in Yorba Linda, CA, after receiving numerous awards for excellence in sales, customer service, and leadership. He loves living in PA and looks forward to using his skills to support the REC!

Kristine Horten

Board Member

Kristine grew up in Western Pennsylvania and moved to Selinsgrove in 2001. After residing here for a few years with her husband Aaron, they decided to raise their two sons, Carter & Porter, in the area. Kristine is an Associate Broker and Office Manager for Bowen Agency Realtors in Lewisburg. She is very active with the VFW Auxiliary, serving as Sr Vice President position since 2018, then District President since 2022.

Ginger Griffith

Board Member

Selinsgrove has always been Ginger Griffith's home and where she raised her daughter. She has been the corporate accountant for Building Solutions for over 25 years. She is actively involved with the Selinsgrove VFW and enjoys helping organizations improve our great town!

Simona Lovik

Simona Lovik is a member of the REC board.

Robert Bertram

Board Member

Bob Bertram grew up in Selinsgrove and has been a realtor for the past 27 years, currently working with eXp Realty. He is active in the community and has served as the president of the Snyder County Libraries board of directors. He is also involved in the Selinsgrove Rotary Club. He’s an avid golfer in his spare time.
